MAKE Course
The MAKE course was created for those who love God, and who have a dream to extend his kingdom beyond the realm of institutional church into all corners of life. After three years of hard work, dialogue, and prayer, MAKE was finally launched in February 2005.
MAKE course is a vocational development training initiative. It comprises three carefully crafted modules that work interactively with the student body. These modules are presented over a total of eight weekends. The course invites each student to participate in a journey of discovery and personal growth with the objective of enabling them to take a more informed and responsible approach to mapping their vocational path in light of God’s call upon their life
The three modules are
- Worldview: Over three weekends the student, in co-operation with the wider student body, explores and identifies the hidden and realized persuaders that have historically created the lens through which they view the world. The objective is to enable each student to recognize their worldview and then work at reformatting it so that the boundaries are in place for designing their future workplace experience in a holistic and personally fulfilling manner.
- Personal & Social Development: Having established the boundaries of the map this module explores who we are and what we aspire to and why. The module is built around what is termed the ‘Shalom Compass’, which provides a model for enabling individuals to plot how they stand in relation to God, themselves, their neighbor, and the created order. In this way it gives a practical tool for developing the self in accord with biblical imperatives. The objective is to require students to develop their own personal mission statement.
- Vocational Plan: Looking forward through the world of work this two weekend component invites each student to develop a career path that is framed in line with their worldview, and enables them to fulfil their personal mission statement. The objective is that each student can then take personal responsibility for shaping their career in accordance with how they understand their calling and purpose under God.
